PROFILE  -   ref CM    SUCCESS - STARTS AT HSBC IN JULY

I am leaving  school this summer having  gained A’ Levels in Sociology, Psychology and English and I am looking for an opportunity that will build on my current skills and experience whilst offering me an insight into the commercial world giving me an opportunity to find out more about the way businesses work and ideally  giving me the chance to gain further business (or business related) qualifications.

I had originally intended to go straight on to university to study Law or Sociology but I have decided that for the moment I would like to experience the world of work and see what other business career opportunities are available. This will help clarify the type of career I might be suited to and therefore the further education which would best suit me.

I have worked for the past 3 years in the local private leisure centre gaining strong customer service and administration skills across a wide range of activities. I have now reached a position where I am entrusted to manage most of the day to day functions of the centre – food provision, customer reception, bookings and telephone calls,  supervising children’s parties, the bar, and money handling.

CONSULTANTS OBSERVATIONS

Charlotte is a competent, intelligent young lady who impressed me with her self-confidence and potential. University is definitely an option for her but as she clearly explained to me she needs to see what other career opportunities might be right for her and to do this she needs gain a full time position where she can gain further insight into how businesses are run.

Based on this I could see this candidate readily fitting into a medium to large multi-functioned company, initially maybe in a sales office, HR, a research department, marketing and PR.
